Why Stand By Me?
Rob Reiner’s moving and gentle (and in parts emotionally tough) tale of growing up in small town America has a brilliant soundtrack and a brilliant cast … River Phoenix is truly moving and his premature death adds an extra sad element to an already nostalgic film.

Based on Stephen King's 1982 novella The Body, the film is set in the fictional town of Castle Rock, Oregon in 1959
Stand by Me stars Will Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, and Jerry O'Connellas four boys who set out on a journey to find the dead body of a missing boy.

With thanks
DJ Vadim Kosmos before the film playing on Audio Gold’s decks
This summer Rebel Reel Cine Club’s transport is sponsored by Alfa Romeo (Marcello is transporting everything to give Keef a rest!)
