The Wicker Man is based on a little-known 1967 novel by British actor and author David Pinner called Ritual, whose film rights were purchased in 1971 by Lord Summerilse himself …Christopher Lee. He proclaiming it the best film he'd ever made.
Anthony Shaffer adapted the book and first-time director Robin Hardy directed it. We love the music which has grown in cult status too!
Shot over a few weeks in the glorious Scottish border region of Galloway, The Wicker Man is a leftfield low-budget film which couldn’t be better suited to Hastings!
